Brazil bags Mister Global 2017 title, Philippines makes it to Top 16
CHIANG MAI, Thailand – The twenty-nine-year-old electrical engineer from Brazil who wowed the judges with his charm and confidence bagged Mister Global 2017 title at the pageant night held in Chiang Mai, Saturday, May 20.
Pedro Gicca was named Mister Global 2017 at the pageant’s conclusion besting 33 other contestants from around the world.
Gicca, who stands 1.87m tall and who also works as a part-time model and a TV show host gave an impressive answer to the common final question, “In case you are awarded as Mister Global 2017, how would you continue the main mission of Mr. Global organization in order to preserve the planet?”
Gicca said he will use the title of being Mister Global 2017 to inspire other people through the use of the media available at the Mister Global organization. He further stated that he will set himself as an example to show concern for the environment by planting trees or putting trash in the right places. “So with these, the inspired people will (become) do the things too and these little things will become a huge step,” Gicca added.
Tomas Martinka, Mister Global 2016 from the Czech Republic, crowned Gicca at the end of the pageant.
The runners up were Gerrie Havenga (South Africa) – First Runner Up; Christopher Bramell (England) – 2nd Runner Up; Fabian Vera (Chile) – 3rd Runner Up and Thuận Nguyễn (Vietnam) – 4th Runner Up.
Meanwhile, Mr. Global Philippines James Alfred Ventura was able to advance to the Top 16 and took home Mister Charming Smile special award.
Mister Global Thailand – Nontakorn Amput failed to make it to the first cut of the competition.
