Bongbong Marcos names Sara Duterte as secretary of education
MANILA, Philippines — Leading vice president candidate Sara Duterte agreed to head the Department of Education as its secretary.
In a brief public address message aired on Facebook two days after the May 9 elections, leading president candidate Bongbong Marcos asked Mayor Sara to serve as the Education Secretary.
“Tinanong ko sa kanya kung kaya niya ‘yung trabaho, mahirap ang trabaho ng Secetary of Education so pero nag-agree naman siya,” he added.
Mayor Sara, a lawyer, accepted the offer. She will be the first government appointee to be made by Marcos.
