“Be wary of “Call Center Gangs” – Philippine Honorary Consulate, Chiang Mai
The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of the Philippines in Chiangmai posted a public advisory on January 11 on its Facebook page, advising Filipinos to be wary of call center gangs spreading in the upper north of Thailand.

“Be alert when someone may call you to claim that your bank account has been found to be associated with drug-trafficking gang OR someone may call you to claim that there is a warren (sic) for your arrest and etc. by sending you a fake official document via instant messenger,” the Consulate said on its advisory.
The Consulate also revealed that authorities are cracking down these gangs and advised the public to report anything suspicious or things similar in nature to the nearest police or Dumrongdhamma Center.
