There may be several skywalks along the busy Pathumwan Area. But the newly opened skywalk above Pathumwan Intersection, which took two years to complete, is becoming not just a new landmark but also an attraction for both locals and tourists alike.

The new skywalk that cost 300 million baht to renovate, links major attractions in the Siam Square area such as Siam Discovery, MBK, Siam Square and Bangkok Art & Culture Center.

You may wonder why the skywalk has this circle-shaped art installations that resembles a lotus leaves in a swamp. That is because the name Pathumwan translates to “lotus” in Thai.

The new Bangkok walkway doesn’t have its proper name yet, and local business that funded Bangkok’s new attraction are asking locals to name it in a contest. So, if you have Thai friends who might be interested in participating in the contest, now is the time to let them know.
