Bangkok, neighboring provinces set for special 3-day holiday in November
People living in Bangkok and neighboring areas are set to get a special three-day holiday in November.
According to government spokeswoman Traisulee Taisaranakul on Monday, the three-day holiday proposal from November 16-18 will soon be submitted to the Cabinet responsible for the summit preparations.
The special holiday is part of the country’s arrangements for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) summit. It aims to help ease traffic flow and better ensure safety for Apec leaders.
However, agencies such as courts of justice, hospitals, and banks can use their discretion on whether to remain open to provide public services.
If approved, residents of Nakhon Pathom, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, and Samut Sakhon will also get a three-day holiday.
