Areas with unhealthy air quality in Bangkok increases
BANGKOK — The air quality in the capital deteriorated even further this morning, January 9.
There are 50 areas in Bangkok that are now considered to be unhealthy with levels of airborne PM2.5 dust particulate increasing to as much as 74 microns, well above the standard safe amount of 50 microns.
From 33 areas having an excessive amount of PM2.5 dust particles or with unhealthy air quality yesterday (January 8), the readings taken from the city’s 72 air monitoring stations at 6 am this morning (Thursday) by the Pollution Control Department and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, revealed that there are now 39 areas of Bangkok and 11 areas of surrounding suburbs.
The areas most affected today in Bangkok include:
- Tambon Hirunruji in Thon Buri district
- Kanchanapisek Road in Bang Khun Thian district
- Tambon Bang Na in Bang Na district
- Tambon Din Daeng in Din Daeng district
- Tambon Chong Nonsee in Yan Nawa district
- Rama IV Road in Pathumwan district
- Intharapitak Road in Thon Buri district
- Lat Phrao Road in Wang Thong Lang district
- Din Daeng Road in Den Daeng district
- Tambon Plabpla in Wang Thong Lang district
- Din Daeng and Ratburana districts
- Tambon Klong Gum in Bung Gum district
- Klong Sam Wa district
- Charunsanitwong Road in Bang Plad district
- Rama II Road in Bang Khun Thian district
