BANGKOK — The Cabinet on Tuesday (September 22) approved another long weekend in November to encourage people to travel more.

November 19 (Thursday) and November 20 (Friday) are now holidays — if we add Saturday and Sunday — that gives us a four-day holiday.

According to Pipat Ratchakitprakan, Minister of Tourism and Sports, the four-day holiday in November is a move to encourage people to travel within Thailand to help boost the struggling tourism industry due to the pandemic.

There are also reports that Deputy PM Wissanu Krea-ngam is also pushing the Cabinet to approve another long weekend in December.

If the holiday in December is approved, Father’s Day on December 7 would be moved to December 11 to let people enjoy the long weekend from Thursday, December 10, which is Constitution Day, to Sunday, Dec. 13.

UPDATE: The Cabinet has also approved the December 10 to December 13 holiday. Yay!
