All schools in Thailand still set to reopen on May 17
Minister of Education Treenuch Thienthong said on Monday that primary and secondary schools in Thailand are still going to reopen as scheduled on May 17. However, if the Covid-19 infections continue to rise, the date of reopening could change.
According to the minister, the decision to keep the school term calendar unchanged at this time was agreed on at a meeting of senior education officials.
Education officials also agreed that school reopening could be postponed to June 1, if needed, if measures to stem the Covid-19 outbreak did not lead to an improving situation.
