Actress Gina Pareño shows interest in Disney’s call for a Filipino lola
Award-winning Filipina actress Gina Pareño showed her interest to be cast in Disney’s upcoming film.
On Thursday, the veteran actress tweeted Disney’s casting call with a photo of herself.
“Pasado ba ako pag nag audition ako sa Disney? Retweet if you agree,” Gina Pareño said. “I-retweet n’yo pa, para makarating sa kanila, pls! Haha.”
Based on their invite, Disney is looking for a Filipino or Filipino-American woman aged 50 to 90 to play the role of a Filipino lola.
Disney said no professional experience is required but the applicant must be able to speak fluent English and is comfortable to fly to Atlanta, Georgia.
The entertainment conglomerate has not disclosed further details yet but some people are thinking Gina is fit for the role. Other people are also guessing the new movie has something to do with the Filipino theme Disney’s Christmas advertisement released last year.
