Thailand, including Bangkok, will experience cool to cold weather starting tomorrow (December 3) that will last for a few days, said the Thai Meteorological Department.

From December 3 to December 7, the strong high pressure from China will give Bangkok the temperature people in the North and Northeast have been experiencing for the last couple of days (at least in the morning).

According to the announcement from Thailand Meteorological Department this morning, Bangkok will also enjoy cooler weather with temperatures falling by 4 – 6 degrees Celsius to 16 – 21 degrees Celsius.

However, an independent meteorologist said not to be too excited because it won’t last long. “It’s just one week of cool weather, and then it will go back to being hot. Expect 3 to 4 Celsius lower temperature during the day. We are all asleep when it gets really cool,” Seree said. “Bangkokians don’t need to prepare very much.”

The ones that should be bracing for the plunge are people in the North and Northeast which, according to the state weather department, will have temperatures falling to 8C – 10C to 10C – 15C. Mountains in the region, meanwhile, should see 2C to 10C as well as frozen dew.

State meteorologists predicted in October that the cold weather in Thailand will last through mid-February.
