7 Inspirational Movies To Watch During Self-Quarantine

We all look for inspiration in different ways to be motivated. But being in self-quarantine for a month or two can be depressing and boring, especially if you are an outgoing person.

However, watching great movies is a great alternative to relax and yet be inspired during COVID-19 crisis. Heartwarming selection of films with a great message such as overcoming immense hardship and the journey of an average person to heroism can truly inspires us.

So, here the seven inspirational movies that will bring you happiness and relaxation during self-quarantine.

1.Facing the Giants

Grant Taylor, a Christian high-school football coach, gets some very bad news. Besides his and his wife’s infertility problems, he faces the attempt of local parents to force the school to replace him.

His team, the Shiloh Eagles, has never had a winning season in the six years that he has coached the boys. Following a visitor’s message, Grant tries to inspire his team to use faith to conquer fear and opposing teams.

2. Hacksaw Ridge

The true story of Desmond T. Doss, who won the Congressional Medal of Honor despite refusing to bear arms during WWII on religious grounds.

Doss was drafted and ostracized by fellow soldiers for his pacifist stance but went on to earn respect and adoration for his bravery, selflessness and compassion after he risked his life — without firing a shot — to save 75 men in the Battle of Okinawa.

3. Men of Honor

Carl Brashear is an ambitious sharecropper who joins the U.S. Navy to become the world’s first black master diver. But as he works through diving training, the bitter and racist Master Chief Billy Sunday sets out to make Carl’s journey as difficult as possible.

Despite the entire Navy doubting his potential and sabotaging his training, the determined Carl proves that he can overcome the discrimination around him.

4. The Pursuit of Happyness

Life is a struggle for single father Chris Gardner. Evicted from their apartment, he and his young son find themselves alone with no place to go.

Even though Chris eventually lands a job as an intern at a prestigious brokerage firm, the position pays no money. The pair must live in shelters and endure many hardships, but Chris refuses to give in to despair as he struggles to create a better life for himself and his son.

5. Hotel Rwanda

Paul Rusesabagina, a Hutu, manages the Hôtel des Mille Collines and lives a happy life with his Tutsi wife and their three children.

But when Hutu military forces initiate a campaign of ethnic cleansing against the Tutsi minority, Paul is compelled to allow refugees to take shelter in his hotel.

As the U.N. pulls out, Paul must struggle alone to protect the Tutsi refugees in the face of the escalating violence later known as the Rwandan genocide.

6. Miracle in Cell No. 7

Separated from his daughter, a father with an intellectual disability must prove his innocence when he is jailed for the death of a commander’s child.

Our main characters are a little girl, Ova, and her father, Memo, a shepherd.  Ova’s father, who has an unnamed cognitive disorder, is said to be the same age as Ova mentally. Ova’s mother is dead, and the two live in a small house with Memo’s grandmother.

7. August Rush

August Rush  tells the story of a charismatic young Irish guitarist and a sheltered young cellist who have a chance encounter one magical night above New York’s Washington Square, but are soon torn apart, leaving in their wake an infant, August Rush, orphaned by circumstance.

Now performing on the streets of New York and cared for by a mysterious stranger, August uses his remarkable musical talent to seek the parents from whom he was separated at birth.
