6 Things To Say To Your MOM On Mother’s Day

We often forget to appreciate our moms for their sacrifices and unconditional love. However, a Jewish proverb reminds us about the significant  role of a mother: “God could not be everywhere, and therefore he made mothers.”

My mother died a few years ago. Therefore, while you still have a chance to express your affection, don’t waste a precious moment to spend time with her. Let me share with you some few inspiring words you might want to say how much you appreciate your mother.

1. I love you and I am so proud of you

Give your mother flowers and tell her that you are proud of her. It’s not a cliché as long as you say it sincerely. You can  also give her a card or write a small note and paste on the mirror where she could see it right after she wakes up.

It is a wonderful way to lift her spirit and self-confidence. Regardless of how many years have passed by, it is never too late to say, “I love you Mom and I am so proud of you.”

2. You’re beautiful both inside and out

Social media and TV commercials have often emphasized superficial beauty over character and integrity.  Needless to say, true beauty transcends physical appearance such as the skin color and make-up. The inner beauty of a mother means love that radiates, being patient, understanding, and caring for children and the whole family.

Tell your Mom how beautiful person she is inside and out.  Helen Keller once said:  “The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched; they must be felt with the heart.”

3. Thank you for being a Supermom

Learn to appreciate your Mom even for simple things. For instance, I am grateful for my wife for preparing the snacks of our children before they go to school,  for baking pizza, for cooking our favorite dish, and for teaching our kids do their homework before bedtime.

Moreover, her effort to give medicine and the sleepless nights she had when our children got sick is a great example of being a Supermom.

4. Let’s blow away the cob webs and chill out

Ask your Mom out on a date or set time aside to do something she wants to do. Hang out and laugh together. You can take your Mom for a dinner or have shopping at the mall.

Spend a quality time with your Mom even when you’re busy as it is a great way to express how grateful you are and value her as a person.

5. I am sorry for my attitude

Children sometimes make mistakes. Every time you speak rudely, she gets hurt or offended. Therefore, Mother’s Day is an opportunity to apologize for the wrongdoings you have done in the past.

While you may hesitant to apologize out of fear or pride, saying sorry is a great opportunity to restore good relationship which has been ruined because of misunderstanding.

6. To have a Mom like you is the best thing ever happened to me

You only have one mother and her sound parenting style is the reason why you have achieved your goals  in life.  Her advise is like a lamp that guides you along the way.

Without her, you will not be a talented, respectful, and most loving person on Earth. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there!
