500,000 baht reward for suspect in Lopburi mass shooting

LOPBURI — National police chief Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda announced Friday a 500,000 baht reward to anyone who can help the authorities capture the gold-shop robber who killed three people, which includes a 2-year-old boy.

The masked gunman wearing a black shirt and camouflage trousers opened fire inside the Robinson shopping mall on Phahon Yothin Highway in tambon Kok Ko about 8:44 pm on Thursday.

CCTV footage showed a man carrying a handgun with a long sound suppressor attached to it. After firing at customers and shop staff, the gunman jumped across the counter and snatched trays of gold necklaces. According to reports, the gunman took worth about 500,000 baht.

He fled the on a Yamaha Fino motorcycle with no license plate.

Erratum: The Pinoy Legacy and other local media earlier reported that 5 people were killed. But officials said only three people died in the shooting, including a two-year-old boy who was shopping with his mom.
