2 Filipinos dead in a car accident in Singapore
Singapore — Two Filipinos were confirmed dead in a car accident at a shopping mall in Singapore on Sunday, said the Department of Foreign Affairs.
“Specific details are being validated but yes, it appears that Filipino victims are involved,” said Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Ed Meñez.
Two female pedestrians were killed and four others were injured after a car crashed into a side road Sunday afternoon at Lucky Plaza, a popular hub for Filipino domestic workers during their rest day.
Singapore’s The Strait Times said the car rammed into a metal railing and landed on the side road next to the mall, hitting several people in the process.
The Home Office in Manila is checking the latest information on the car accident with the Philippine embassy, adding that all assistance will be provided to the victims, said Meñez.
