Less than an hour after reopening on Monday, 15 schools in Mae Sot district in Tak were ordered to close down after several of the children tested positive for Covid-19.
According to The Nation source, a merchant in Mae Sot was discovered to be Covid-19 positive and was taken to Mae Sot Hospital along with 25 people who were in close contact with him.
“Last night [January 31], further test results showed five children who are related to the patients are also infected,” said the source. “This led to the shutdown of the community where the patients live as well as 15 schools in the municipality.”
