14-year-old boy closes door after seeing giant king cobra outside their home
A 14-year-old boy who was eating at home in Trang province on Jan 20, immediately closed the door and ran straight to his mother whilst screaming about a giant king cobra raising its hood just outside their house.
The neighbors heard the scream and hurriedly shut their doors as well, before notifying the local snake catchers.
Five experts arrived and saw the snake hiding in the many banana trees planted nearby. Due to its large size and its hiding location, it took more than 10 minutes for the rescue team to subdue it.
It was revealed that the giant king cobra was more than 4 meters long and weighs about 10kg. They put it in a sack and released it back into nature far away from the community.
