They said the path to championship without a loss is the toughest. But in winning back-to-back sweeps in all their matches, TNRJ Airbenders had no trouble dropping the hammer.
The TNRJ Airbenders swept their four-game season series including their championship match against Vhastarda at the 2nd OFW Friendship Games held at Ekkamai International School on Sunday, 27 August 2017.
Airbenders finished off Vhastarda 25-16 on the first set, 25-19 on the second set, and ended their opponent’s chance for a fourth set with a 25-23 score on the third set – securing the championship title.
“Vhastarda was a strong team. They put up a good fight. Winning each set against them was not a breeze,” said John Camaro, a defensive specialist (libero) of Airbenders.
“We gave our very best to play and win every single game. Each one of us contributed in every aspect of the game. The best thing is that we worked as a team and we have adapted the attitude of “Never give up.” We share our victory to all the teams who competed, Team Captain Mark Toby Lim Pauig told Pinoy Legacy.
“A countless thanks to the organizers of this tournament for the success and a job well done!” Pauig added.
